At a meeting with Russian Federation Council chairman, Valentina Matviyenko, Chinese President Xi Jinping says China will promote law-making body exchanges with Russia.

President Xi says cooperation between the two legislatures is important and the two sides should establish exchange cooperation mechanism between the legislators from both countries. He also says the two countries should set up regular meetings between local leaders in order to promote the sound development of local cooperation in tourism, culture and education.

Matviyenko says Russian people are delighted to see China’s great achievements and Russian politicians and law-making bodies have a responsibility to maintain the China-Russia’s comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation. He also says Russia’s Far East is willing to step up cooperation with China.
